Let us find out the same.

Our Expert Opinion
A2 Hosting is a great hosting provider that is available at affordable pricing. Its non-turbo plans are quick, but the difference is not much when you compare it head-to-head with other hosting companies.
However, it's their Turbo Servers that are insanely quick without a single tweak or cache plugins. The speed of their Turbo server, combined with rock-solid uptime and good customer support, is the reason I highly recommend A2 Hosting to my readers.

A2 Hosting Review 2025: Detailed Analysis By Expert
A2 Hosting's prime focus is on server optimization and speed. So is it really fast, or is it just another company claiming to be fast? Let us find out the same in this A2 Hosting Review for 2025.
A2 Hosting Review: What I Like About A2 Hosting
1. Affordably Priced Plans
A2 Hosting is not exactly cheap, but its plans are very much affordable and rightly priced when you take into account the server resources and quality of support that you get.
2. Turbo Servers Are Real Quick
If you are planning to get A2 Hosting's Turbo servers, there is no reason for you to think twice. While they aren't 20x faster as claimed, the LiteSpeed Webserver and NVMe storage make sure your website loads really fast.
3. Good Decent Uptime
I have used as well as tested A2 Hosting for 4 years, and I did not have any major downtime issues. The uptime of A2 Hosting was rock solid throughout.
4. Good Customer Support
A2 Hosting has both the chat and ticket options. For some reason, A2 Hosting has made it difficult to find the chat option. However, creating a ticket isn't really a bad option, as in most cases you can expect a response from the A2 Hosting support team within a few minutes.
5. Free Website Migration
A2 Hosting offers free migration if you are moving your website from another hosting company. This is great if you don't have the technical expertise to move your website yourself.
A2 Hosting Review: What Could Be Better
1. No Free Domain Name
A2 Hosting does not offer a free domain name with any plans. So, you have to shell out extra to get a domain name.
2. Fewer Data Centers
A2 Hosting has only 4 data centers in the US (Michigan and Arizona), the Netherlands (Amsterdam), and Singapore. These are fewer compared to most of its competitors.
About A2 Hosting
A2 Hosting is one of the oldest hosting companies that started its operation way back in 2001. It was founded by Bryan Muthig and is headquartered in Ann Arbor, United States.
However, the company has gone more recently in the year 2015. And ever since then it has grown exponentially to become one of the largest hosting companies in the industry.
A2 Hosting's primary focus is to provide servers optimized for speed so that its users can have fast-loading websites.
Plans and Pricing
A2 Hosting offers several web hosting plans, including shared hosting, managed WordPress hosting, managed VPS, unmanaged cloud hosting, managed dedicated servers, and reseller hosting. So let us go through the plans available at A2 Hosting.
Shared Hosting
A2 Hosting offers a total of four shared hosting plans; Ignite, Accel, Turbo Velocity, and Turbo Nitro. All the shared hosting plans use the popular cPanel control panel.
All the shared hosting plans are powered by LiteSpeed WebServer, but with different versions. It's not clear how these versions differ in terms of functionality and features.
However, the notable difference between the Turbo and Non-Turbo plans is the faster NVMe SSDs and AMD Ryzen CPU that you get with the Turbo plans which can significantly impact the website load time.

Managed WordPress Hosting
Unlike a few other hosting companies that rebrand their existing plans as Managed WordPress, A2 Hosting offers unique Managed WordPress plans that come with application-level management.
A total of four Managed WordPress plans are available at A2 Hosting; Run, Jump, Fly, and Sell. These plans mainly differ in terms of the number of websites hosted, storage space, Jetpack versions, and other server resources.
However, the Sell plan is specifically designed for WooCommerce websites with features necessary for running a successful WooCommerce website.

Managed And Self-Managed VPS
A2 Hosting also offers both managed and self-managed VPS plans. While the unmanaged VPS plans are priced competitively, the managed VPS plans are mid-tier.
A2 Hosting Turbo, powered by the LiteSpeed web server and NVMe SSD, is available with both self-managed VPS and managed VPS plans.

Managed Dedicated Server
As of the time of updating this review, A2 Hosting is offering only managed dedicated server plans. The basic entry-level plans offer the Intel Xeon processor, while the Warp plans powered by A2 Turbo come with the AMD Ryzen processor.
While NVMe SSD is included with all the plans, LiteSpeed WebServer is reserved for the Warp plans.

A2 Hosting Registration
Registering with A2 Hosting is a quick process that allows you to checkout in just a few click. To get started, you can visit the home page of A2 Hosting using the below link.
Their home page displays the starting price of all their managed plans, including shared hosting, managed WordPress, managed VPS, and managed dedicated servers.

You can check all the plans available for a particular hosting type by clicking on the "View All Plans" option below that hosting type. Of course, you can use the navigation menu above to see their unmanaged VPS plans, reseller hosting plans, and more.
Below is the page showing shared hosting plans available at A2 Hosting.

Clicking on the button below each plan will take you to the cart page. On this page, under the "Account" section, you can either log in to your existing account or fill in the details to create a new account.
Likewise, in the "Product And Service Summary" section, you can adjust your billing cycle

Scrolling down a bit, you can see the "Domain" section, "Configure Your Hosting" section, and "Billing" section as shown below.

As the name suggests, the "Domain" section allows you to register a new domain, transfer an existing domain to A2 Hosting, or just map your existing domain so that you can change the DNS records to use with A2 Hosting.
You can choose your server location, as well as choose to buy a dedicated IP under the "Configure Your Hosting" section. Under the "Billing" section, you can choose your payment method.
Once you've verified that you have chosen the right options, you can click on the Pay button to complete the purchase.
A2 Hosting Dashboard And Control Panel (cPanel)
A2 Hosting Dashboard
You can manage A2 Hosting's services, as well as certain important features, right from the A2 Hosting Dashboard, which looks like below.

The TurboHub section, unique to A2 Hosting, allows you to manage the performance, security, and plugin updates right from the A2 Hosting Dashboard. To access the same, you can first navigate to TurboHub > Site List and then choose from the list of websites.
As shown below, you can access your WordPress WP Admin section and cPanel from here. You can also create a staging site. For more options, you can open the TurboHub Dashboard for the website.

The TurboHub Dashboard for my A2 hosting test website looks like below. As you can see, it checks the Google performance score, as well as allows you to switch on the maintenance mode.

Under the performance tab, A2 Hosting helps you optimize your website. The optimizations include activating the LiteSpeed Cache plugin, pushing optimized settings, and also compressing images.
You can also manually activate the LightSpeed Plugin from here.

From the security tab, you can check the status of your SSL certificate, malware scanner, firewall, DDoS protection, and brute force protection.

The services section of the A2 Hosting Dashboard allows you to manage your hosting services, while the Domains section allows you to manage domain names you bought from A2 Hosting.
A2 Hosting cPanel
A2 Hosting shared hosting, managed WordPress, managed VPS, managed dedicated server, and reseller hosting plans include a cPanel control panel.
The cPanel offered by A2 Hosting is mostly standard with only a few customizations. So, I'll quickly walk you through the cPanel options.
As you can see below, the first section of A2 Hosting cPanel lets you manage your email accounts. This is followed by the Softaculous Installer section, which is slightly customized to fit in more WordPress options, including WordPress A2 Optimized.

The next 2 sections are the Files and Database sections, which incluce standard cPanel options that help you with file management and database management.

Next on the list are the Domains and Metrics sections, which also show the standard cPanel options for managing your domains, and hosting metrics.
Scrolling further down the cPanel reveals the Security and Software sections. While the security section includes the typical cPanel options, including SSL certificate management, the software section offers the A2 Website Builder option unique to A2 Hosting.

And right at the bottom of the cPanel are the Advanced and Preference sections, with the Advanced section offering an additional A2 Optimized option.

So, as stated earlier, A2 Hosting's cPanel is almost the stock cPanel with minimal customizations.
A2 Performance Testing
A2 Hosting is one web hosting company that claims to provide fast, optimized servers. So is it really fast? Let us find out with a few tests.
A2 Hosting Speed Test And Load Test
For the test, I used the Starter Templates plugin to create a dummy WooCommerce website. The website was built on Astra Theme with Gutenberg Blocks. It had the following plugins activated:
According to Pingdom Tools, the page generated 74 requests with the total page size of 1.6MB with no speed optimizations applied. The below screenshot shows the page speed of the unoptimized home page of this website as recorded by Pingdom Tools.

As you can see, this page generates 74 requests with a total size of 1.6 MB. The load time of the page as per Pingdom tools was 1.15 seconds.
Next, I used WebPageTest.org for testing the website load time. As you can see, the TTFB was 0.443 seconds, the First Contentful Paint (FCP) was 1.516 seconds, and the Largest Contentful Paint (LCP) was 3.4 seconds. The page size was 1491KB with zero Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS).

I also performed load tests on this unoptimized page using the Loader.io tool. With 600 clients sent over a minute to the home page, A2 Hosting performed decently with zero errors and a 785 ms average response time.

Things started to worsen when I increased the load to 700 clients sent over a minute to the home page. The error rate shot up to 32.1% with only 429 out of 700 requests successfully completed. The average response time also shot up to 3983 ms.

Next, I optimized the test website using the "Boost Performance" option located in the A2 Hosting Dashboard's TurboHub section.
With this option, A2 Hosting automatically installed and configured the LiteSpeed Cache plugin. Additionally, it compressed the images, reducing their size without affecting the original image quality.
Next, I repeated the speed test with Pingdom Tools. As you can see below, the page size reduced from 1.6MB to 792.2KB, and the number of requests dropped from 74 to 30.
As for the page load time, it too improved from 1.15 seconds to just 539 ms. This is a huge improvement as compared to the unoptimized page.
The WebPageTest.org tool confirmed the improvements, with the TTFB reduced to 0.277 seconds from 0.443 seconds, FCP reduced from 1.516 seconds to 0.734 seconds, and LCP reduced from 3.4 seconds to 1.411 seconds.
The page size also decreased significantly, from 1491 KB to 695 KB. However, the CLS increased from zero to 0.213, which is still within acceptable levels.
Coming to the load test, I first sent 700 clients per minute to the test website's home page. And as you can see, it completed all the requests successfully with just a 108 ms response time.

In fact, I tried sending up to 5000 clients per minute to the test website's home page. And A2 Hosting completed all the requests successfully with a response time of just 74 ms.
Since it's a shared hosting plan, I decided not to load test it with more clients, as there are chances of the account getting banned due to exceeding the Fair Usage Policy for bandwidth.

My Review Of A2 Hosting Performance
A2 Hosting's Turbo Velocity plan performed decently even without any optimizations. And the load test on the unoptimized page confirmed that this plan is sufficient for lightweight, medium-traffic WooCommerce websites.
However, the automatic performance boost by A2 Hosting was a standout performer. Despite the huge speed gains, it did not break the website. Although the CLS did increase slightly, it was still within acceptable limits.
The optimized page showed massive improvements during the load test, with A2 Hosting successfully handling 5000 clients sent over a minute with zero errors.
Uptime
Uptime is critical for any website. If your website goes down frequently, visitors will see an error page. This not only results in a bad user experience, it also leads to loss of business.
However, A2 Hosting won't disappoint you with uptime. Throughout my time of using A2 Hosting to host Hosting Peek, as well as during testing phases, A2 Hosting recorded good, solid uptime.
So, if uptime is one of your priorities, you have no reason for not choosing A2 Hosting.
Customer Support
Customer support is one crucial aspect you cannot ignore while choosing a web host. So, for writing this comprehensive A2 Hosting Review, I decided to test A2 Hosting's customer support and check their response time and knowledge of their executives.
First I decided to contact their chat support team. In the case of most hosting companies, the chat support is usually the least experienced, who address only the basic queries while creating tickets for any advanced queries.
So, I decided to keep my query simple for them. I asked the chat support team, "How do I activate and enable Redis Cache with the LiteSpeed Plugin?"
As soon as I filled out the chat form, I saw a huge wait time of 22 minutes even though it stated that I was first in the queue.

Despite the huge wait time, I was pleasantly surprised when the executive turned up in 2-3 minutes time. The response time from the executive wasn't the best, and it was clearly visible she was multitasking with 2-3 more clients.
However, when she responded, she accurately claimed that A2 Hosting Shared Hosting plans do not offer Redis Cache (Honestly, I had no idea about it back then).
Upon asking if she was sure, she even provided a link to an A2 Hosting Knowledgebase Page, which clearly stated that the Redis Cache is only available for Unmanaged VPS and Unmanaged Dedicated Servers, as claimed by the executive. That was impressive.
Overall, the chat lasted for 12 odd minutes apart from the initial 2-3 minutes wait time. Full marks to A2 Hosting on that. Below is the complete chat transcript.

Next, I decided to create a ticket asking for the host name and port number for activating Memcached. In this case, I already knew the answer. I got a reply to my ticket in about 19 minutes, which I feel is great.

More importantly, the executive came up with the correct answer. Again, a thumbs up to the A2 Hosting customer support team.

And more recently, while updating this article, I created a ticket asking the executive to reset my hosting account. Usually the customer support executives confirm the danger of resetting the account, so I clearly mentioned I was vary of the risks associated and asked him to do the needful without any further confirmations.
As you can see from the screenshot below, the A2 Hosting executive completed the request and sent a confirmation message in about 23 minutes. This is excellent from a budget shared hosting company.

Overall, the turnaround time was decent. Their support team too seemed to be knowledgeable. I'd rate A2 Hosting's support 4.5/5.
Alternatives To A2 Hosting
A2 Hosting is a great option. However, if for some reason you are looking for alternative options, below are some of them you can consider.
1. Hostinger
Hostinger is an affordable hosting company with their plans starting at just $2.49/month. At some locations, it offers the "Single" plan, which is even cheaper.
All the Hostinger plans are powered by LiteSpeed WebServer and come with the LSCache Plugin pre-installed. So if you are just starting out, Hostinger is a good option to consider. Find Out More About Hostinger
Exclusive Discount For Hostinger
Hosting Peek Readers get an additional discount of 10% on Hostinger with our exclusive Hostinger Coupon Code. So, if you are looking to buy Hostinger, you can save a few bucks with our promo code.
2. ChemiCloud
ChemiCloud offers plans that are cheaper than A2 Hosting. It also offers more data centers compared to A2 Hosting.
All the ChemiCloud plans are powered by LiteSpeed WebServer and deliver great performance. The great performance of ChemiCloud is backed by an equally good customer support team.
So, if you don't mind paying more for quality shared hosting backed by good customer support and more number of data centers, ChemiCloud is one of the best options for you.
3. Cloudways
Cloudways servers as an alternative to A2 Hosting Managed VPS. It is a managed cloud VPS provider owned by Digital Ocean.
Cloudways allows you to choose cloud servers from Digital Ocean, Vultr, Linode, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). It then adds a security firewall and an optimized server stack to the blank server.
You also get access to their in-house control panel, which allows you to manage the VPS, as well as applications installed on it.
Cloudways is a great option if you are looking for a scalable cloud VPS provider that is also easy on your wallet.
Final Words On A2 Hosting Review
A2 Hosting is a great option for shared hosting. While their non-turbo shared hosting plans are pretty average when it comes to site speed, it's their Turbo plans that will make your website fly.
Their uptime is at par with industry standards. In this A2 Hosting review, we also tested their customer support, which turned out to be excellent. So, if you are looking for a good host that comes at an affordable price, there's no reason you should not go with A2 Hosting.
